Pemberton "Autumn" DozenAngelicus - 2004 Sauvignon BlancThe wine has an aromatic nose of subtle tropical fruit and spicy minerals. The palate has good fruit intensity with crisp acid and a fresh finish.
Barwick Estate - 2003 "St John Brook" ChardonnayThe 2003 Chardonnay from the Treenbrook vineyard in Pemberton has a tight and well-focused structure with crisp acid, lingering flavour and a subtle hint of oak. A true varietal wine with grapefruit, pear and peach characters.
Blue Loft - 2002 Pinot NoirMatured for over a year in French oak barriques, this very elegant wine is a big full flavoured premium red with a touch of liquorice.
Capel Vale - 2004 Sauvignon Blanc SemillonThe wine displays intense gooseberry and herbaceous aromas, which lead to a full palate, packed with intense fruit salad, passionfruit and green grass flavours. The finish is crisp and dry with cleansing acid and an excellent lingering aftertaste.
Fonty's Pool Wines - 2002 ShirazExceptional low yields combined with a perfect growing season in 2002 produced a wine with intensely deep red/purple colour and vibrant aromas of black pepper,plum, sweet vanilla spice and raspberries. Firm chewy tannins combined with careful oak handling and balanced acid result in a powerful wine, which is generous and more-ish.
Hidden River Estate - 2003 Unwooded ChardonnayBright straw yellow in colour, it has an aromatic tropical fruit nose with hints of citrus. Ripe peach & pineapple characters evident. On the palate there are rich stone fruit characters with peach & nectarine evident as well as citrus.
Merum - 2002 SemillonThe Merum 2003 Semillon has delicate citrus aromas with fresh, grassy overtones. The palate is complex and well structured, complemented by vibrant, steely acidity. Although approachable now, this wine will develop excellent bottle age characters with cellaring for 7-10 years. This wine can be enjoyed as a refreshing aperitif or to accompany seafood dishes such as salmon or scallops.
Pemberley Farms - 2004 Sauvignon BlancThe aroma of this wine shows lifted kiwifruit, pineapple and white peach whist the flavours are of lemon, lime and pink lady apples. The crisp acid finish complements the wine and make it most enjoyable with most foods.
Phillips Estate - 2002 Pinot NoirMedium bodied with good complexity of flavours, lifted fresh raspberry and plum aromas. Medium plum red in colour with enough acid and tannin to give good structure and texture. The wine is tasting of ripe cherries, and the varietal palate is supple and fine, with a good lengthy finish. Drinking well now it will improve and become a memorable wine over the next few years.
Picardy -2001 Merlot CabernetThe wine opens with complex aromas of violet, plum, chocolate and pencil shavings. The palate is a little riper than usual, with lovely plum and chocolate characters backed by toasty oak. Tannins are fine and extremely long.
Silkwood Wines - 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon MerlotA cool climate cabernet merlot blend with aromas of chocolate and mint, it shows good structure and mouth feel with great length and cedary berry flavours. Cellar 3-5 years.
